Privacy Policy

To better serve our registrants and guests, VCATS collects personal and non-personal information through our website, www.vacats.org, which is owned and operated by the Virginia Council on Advanced Technology Skills (VCATS).  VCATS is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. We have created this Privacy Statement in order to describe to users our information collection practice. When registering for training on our website, you will be asked to fill-out a personal profile with us only one time. This data is securely kept in a database so that you may login with your identification number assigned by the computer and your personally created password.

WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?
To participate in certain activities and to obtain certain services offered on this web site, a user is asked to provide varying amounts of personal information. Some information is mandatory while other information is discretionary. Activities or services that require provision of personal information generally seek full name, date of birth, address, and email address. Depending on the activity or service a user desires, we also may request personal information such as career status. We endeavor to limit our requests for personal details to information we believe is minimally necessary to achieve our stated purposes. 

HOW DOES VCATS USE MY INFORMATION?
Personal information is collected and used primarily for purposes such as facilitating a request. In addition to the primary purposes for which personal information is collected, we may use the personal information to contact a user as follows: to conduct internal surveys; to notify a user of new products or services that we think may be of interest; to send promotional materials. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise dispose of the personal information collected on vacats.org to unaffiliated third parties. We may, however, disclose your personal information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with law. Those submitting information acknowledge that by registering for training and/or providing a mailing address, e-mail address, telephone and fax number, he or she has consented to receive communication sent by or on behalf of VCATS (and its official partners, subsidiaries and affiliates) via regular mail, e-mail, telephone or facsimile transmittal. We use non-personal information such as demographic data to analyze and develop our marketing strategy. We use non-personal information to determine how you found out about us, what your interests are regarding our services, and how to further improve our site and our service towards you.

DOES VCATS' PRIVACY POLICY APPLY TO LINKED WEB SITES?
Our Privacy Statement applies solely to information collection practice on vacats.org. This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that VCATS has no control or influence over the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave vacats.org and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that they visit.

Manufacturing Technician
Operate precision machinery, systems and processes. Typical skills expected in these positions might include: CAD skills, computer controlled machine programming, precision measurement, process and machine trouble-shooting, problem-solving, machine maintenance, use diagnostic and statistical tools. These positions generally describe someone who has enough broad-based knowledge about a multi-step process to successfully trouble-shoot and cure problems beyond the scope of typical "machine operators." These positions may also describe someone charged with developing/ refining prototype fabrication methods for new products.
